Therapy and Counseling
At Advanced Placement BHHS, we are dedicated to our improvement of clients in the communities and in the home. For this reason, we offer three different levels of therapeutic treatment: Individual therapy, Group therapy and Substance Abuse Counseling. We are invested in providing the best care to our clients, so therapists on staff are Qualified, Licensed, and Equipped to handle client concerns. Additionally, each level of treatment involves a confidential relationship geared toward changing behaviors and outlooks on life.

Individual therapy typically consists of weekly 50-minute sessions in which the client and counselor focus on personal changes in attitude and behavior. Unlike a friendship or a parental relationship—that may involve communication barriers and fear of judgment—Individual therapy provides an objective and trained ear listening to personal and treatment-related concerns in the life of the client.

Group therapy is provided both in the office and at our Group Homes. Group Therapy operates under the principle that no one lives in isolation, and often, problems or issues that seem to be an individual and unique cross to bear are also issues that others have experienced or currently battle. We offer Groups on various issues that are present in the lives of our clients. Though Group Home therapy is more treatment oriented, the interpersonal learning has just as much impact.
